For the fake social media assignment, I decided to make an account posting in 2011. The posts are by Will Marks, who is supposed to be a teenager. He makes posts both about news, and about some pop culture topics that a teenager might be interested in.
I’ve never posted much on social media, so it was an interesting medium to explore. Most of the posts I made mentioned different events, and included a comment or joke about them. I think this is a good way to see how social media usually can give you surface level information about events and what people are thinking, but it isn’t a medium which will give you the full picture.
